Torst Burger

Great bun. The patty had great flavor but was often lost in the full bite. A larger patty (or a double stack) could have elevated this burger.

This is an utterly unique burger - not everything worked perfectly, and I'd definitely have preferred a bit more meat as the flavor of the beef got lost, but on the whole it's a delicious and special take on what a burger can be. The bun gets special points for holding everything together perfectly. The value suffers without sides, but the venue is absolutely fantastic - best beer bar in the city - and the staff are great folks. I'd have it again for sure.

The flavor combinations all made sense- the tomato jam, pablano cream, pickled onions and sprouts, and was very tasty, but the ratios were off in a way that the dry aged beef was an afterthought. The taste presented on the sweeter side and could have benefited from something with some spice and perhaps more sprouts for added crunch. The texture was all soft and creamy, which was tasty but in need of some contrast.

For Andrew’s rating, I’d give him a 9 because he ordered spiced nuts and olives...and bought me a few drinks .
