The Meaty Details
July 21 at 4PM, we return to our roots with the annual Feast of the Immaculate Conception, celebrating the flawless birth of Burger Club at the genesis point: Whitman's in the East Village. $25 gets you any burger on their menu (there are many, each one a glorious, polished gem of beefy delight), a side such as their blue cheese fries, crack kale and more, and a tall glass of beer or wine to wash it all down.
Come back to the beginning with us. Afterwards, we'll ravage the East Village and possibly break into my old apartment...

The peanut butter was too much all I tasted was the peanut butter there was no balance it needed some vinegar or tartness to break the PB
Won’t order that again should have had the the clasdic
Andrew had a burger pin, which felt like a strongman tactic that I didn’t like. He’s not that Burger King! 🍔🤴4 from me.
The taste is very lovely. I like that it squirts out cheese. Lacks a little variation in texture, but only because I went halvsies on the hound .
I had the Mangold last year, and it was delicious. This time I had the Hound, and it is going to be hard to beat. Perfect ratio of patty to toppings. Crunch from the shoestring fries. Umami from the cheese. Bacon-y flavor, excellently cooked medium rare. I usually try for variety, but I would order this again next time and be delighted.
Sides came out after the meal, and I was too full to enjoy more than a couple of the fries. The staff brought out bowls of crispy tater tots with sauce before our burgers came out - points for that! - and the tots were great.
All ‘round awesome time.
Patty Melt was perfectly toasted and a great combo of cheeses, but doesn't beat The Hound in my opinion.
A fine bacon-infused burger. The smoked gruyere cheese paired perfectly with the bacon below. Andrew seemingly cross-promoted this with his classical music lists ... Andrew = 2.3/10
The Hound remains the king! Shishito peppers/fries could have used a little more salt, but the free, incredible tater tots more than made up for it.
Andrew did great and has some amazing accessories today.
