Itβs going to take a handful of long, solitary lockdown walks to work this one off. Hats off to Andrew for the recipe and logistics, except for the part about his actual hat - giving him a generous, possibly unprecedented 5/10 rating as a person.
The mix of sausage, beef, mayonnaise, spicy "banana ketchup", and a nice bun makes this a helluva burger.
On a sour note - apparently overwhelmed by the routine demands of everyday life, Andrew arrived donning a new Apple Watch, which, instead of enhancing his productivity, only made him arrive late due to the distraction of constantly updated displays of his (slow) step count. I give him a 4/10.
I was feeling great about everything happening here until a blur of fitted pink polo swooped in, ripped my beer out of my hands, then proceeded to chug it while I stared in humiliated disbelief. In other words, it was average showing by Andrew and he's earned another 3.0.
Shake Shack felt good, on the whole. The Shack Stack burger is topped with a cheese-stuffed slice of fried portabella and it's changed me for the better. The park was an excellent venue, Andrew bucked the trend of disappointing everyone and anyone, and the weather held out until we finished our ground beef pounding hammer time session. Good times all around.
A glorified Big Mac, not that that's a bad thing. Overall a solid grease burger/fries combo but the $8/$9 beer price point hurt me deep.
And, call me a Luddite, but after all these fancy website upgrades we don't have the ease of manually adding an Andrew-as-a-person score like we did in the paper and pencil days. I don't trust this.
Andrew's organization and venue selection was top notch, but...the hat. As much as I tried to adjust, I still struggled with my skepticism and vague discomfort as would a child whose father suddenly appeared with a bold mustache.
